Red Cross Bass Tourney ready to roll despite Maritime festival cancellation
Ahoy Mate! The third annual American Red Cross Bass Tournament, set for mid- June, is still full moving full steam ahead despite the unfortunate cancellation of the Erie Maritime Festival.
Due
to financial issues, the City of Erie cancelled what was going to be the
inaugural Maritime Festival.
Despite the cancellation, the Red Cross is hoping to expand on the popular bass fishing tournament. Last year, nearly 120 fisherman braved choppy waters to fight for the top prize of $2,500. The American Red Cross tournament will again look to bring the top bass anglers from throughout the tri-state region this June, all vying for a total of $6,000 in prizes and awards,
The Red Cross sponsored Casting for Kids event will allow children of all ages to give their try at casting, with an opportunity to win great prizes and an opportunity to move on to regional and national competition and win college scholarships!
